Thank you for taking an interest in Cat Manchack Photography.
Allow me to tell you a bit about myself:
I grew up around Willmar, Minnesota. I guess my parents are the ones I should give credit to for igniting my interest in cameras. My mother gave me her
Instamatic when I was around seven years old. Then my dad started to teach me how to use his manual camera when I was ten or eleven. I started to do my friend's
prom and formal dance pictures when I was fifteen. Then I would go out to different "cool" locations and do "photo shoots" with my friends. I would have them in
several different poses and use different formats of film. That's also when I started experimenting with hand tinting black and white photos. I still have some of
these shots in my portfolios.
My senior year of High School I was accepted in a Post Secondary Education Option program at the college in town, and I was the first to major in Photography, while
other PSEO students usually went for their generals. I shot my first wedding when I was eighteen.
This is something that I do with great passion, and I hope it shows through in my pictures. I am now based out of New Ulm, Minnesota. Almost all of my
business is brought in by word of mouth. Although being a photographer isn't my primary job, I love doing it. I really believe that photography is and should be
fun and enjoyable, and so should portraits. That's why not only do I have fun during the session, but I also keep my prices very competitive. I'm not here
to make big bucks, I'm just here to have fun doing what I love, pardon the cliche'. |
